Have you heard what this month’s date night was yet? I’ll be the first to say, it was more than exciting to relaunch Society 414, and part of that was the anticipation for what we had in store for the XO Date Night. We had a fantastic group of couples and friends who came ready to have a good time, and this evening did not disappoint! Our first date night of the year was all about making memories through music, and whether that was trivia, singing, dancing or hitting some sweet and savory palate notes, no one will forget this night!
The fun began as soon as the guests arrived – cocktails were handed out and secret celebrity couples were assigned. Our pairs broke the ice guessing each other’s celebrity couple as they met and mingled together. They had to play another fun trivia game to get their dinner table assignment by unscrambling love songs from their favorite artists. As couples put their heads together, they noshed on bites passed by Soiree Catering and sipped creative cocktails featuring Belle Isle Moonshine.
Once table assignments were revealed, guests were called to dinner by a gospel ensemble singing beautiful renditions of the classic, “Stand by Me” and Beyonce’s “XO.” Dinner was grounded by rich, beautiful emerald velvet linen from I Do Linens, and topped with clear, gold-rimmed dinner plates, lush floral and romantic candles by C Wayman Floral and stylish stationery by Papered Wonders. No second fiddle to the decorations, dinner was a grand buffet appealing to everyone’s tastes with chicken, salmon and short ribs – no one left hungry, for sure!
As dinner plates disappeared, the dance floor opened, marked by a fabulous balloon chandelier from MomsKloset and brought to life through entertainment by Big Mike Sax and his musicians. Then, the real party started … live band karaoke invited our adventurous guests to abandon their inhibitions and belt out their favorite song as the crowd cheered along. We laughed, we danced and we sang our hearts out!
Adding a sweet note to the end of this evening, a decadent dessert display by Sweet Details offered our performers (and their fans) an assortment of decadent sweets under a fun neon sign saying, “All You Need Is Love,” and highlighted by more bright balloons, cool balloon leaves and gorgeous floral. Guests chose between beautiful bite-sized treats like layered cookies topped with pink chocolate dipped cherries, mini chocolate tarts, chic parfaits and more.
The entire room was drenched in sultry, bold hues that invited every couple to truly mellow out. In between time spent on the dance floor and tasty return trips to the bar, guests could lounge on plush velvet, mid-century furniture from Crush Event Rentals, revel in the dramatic balloon displays or play a quick game of XO Tic Tac Toe.
To say the XO date night was just what a busy couple needed to unwind after a crazy week of work is an understatement. The smiles, laughter and overall exuberant and easy-going vibe of the night showed exactly how much fun everyone was having. I can’t wait for the next event – more great food, plenty of cocktails, tons of laughter and some amazing time spent together. I hope you’ll join us on April 26th – tickets are available at Society 414.
