Imagine an Atlanta wedding with the enchantment and mystique of a Disney movie. That’s exactly what I envisioned for our clients! The result was — simply put — magical. We worked tirelessly to create a secret garden atmosphere that would leave guests spellbound and talking about this day for years to come. The design of this Atlanta History Center wedding was a symphony of overgrown flowers and an elegant palette featuring varying shades of muted spring colors. The florals were accented with beautiful shades of gold and surrounded by luminous candles. Plus, there were plenty of whimsical details, from the stationery suite to the bride’s cascade bouquet and new things to uncover at every turn. Everyone included in the wedding party, even their furry friend, carried spring-colored blooms that matched the theme oh-so-perfectly!
As any seasoned Atlanta wedding planner knows, the weather can be unpredictable. Luckily, we had a backup plan that brought the garden to life indoors. The secret garden-inspired aisle had an entrance arch enriched with lush greenery and loose asymmetrical florals. The ceremony backdrop perfectly reflected the setting, creating an image of effortless harmony. These extravagant florals filled the space so perfectly and were able to be enjoyed at every angle and from every seat.
The magic of this Atlanta History Center wedding continued during the cocktail hour. The guests were surrounded by garden-inspired tables decorated with luxurious linens, glowing candles, and gorgeous place settings. There were also lounges featuring monogrammed pillows— the perfect extra touch! The escort card display with custom keys provided guests with their table assignments for the reception dinner and served as a unique detail. Seeing as the couple is passionate about travel, guests could leave their well wishes in the travel coffee table guest book!
Everyone entered the reception space of the Atlanta History Center venue through a dramatic tunnel created from billowing drapes, lush greenery, and abundant florals. Inside, the reception space was nothing short of dreamy and definitely fit the bill of ‘fairytale Disney’ vibe. The low-lying fog added an air of mystery, and the starry ceiling lit up the night. The fairytale motif continued with gold foil menu cards and mirrors featuring table numbers. Stunning trees flanked the dance floor, their centerpieces bursting with color and beauty.
The three massive crystal chandeliers brought in just for this occasion were the true showstoppers of this Atlanta History Center wedding reception! Hanging over the custom-installed dance floor, the chandeliers provided magical lighting. We also included living bars with floral arrangements spilling out. This was complemented by custom napkins, signs, and drink stirrers, completing the bar design. Guests captured memories in the portrait photo booth, and the celebration continued late into the night, with everyone dancing under the starry sky.
