Every wedding, just like every couple, is unique. Our goal is to help you consider all the important details and decisions that you will need to make. I understand the challenges couples face when trying to prioritize the important elements of their day. To help you navigate the process, here are some of my expert tips to ensure that your wedding is everything you’ve dreamed of.

Define Your Priorities
Sit down with your partner and discuss what aspects of the wedding are most important to the two of you. There may be parts of the wedding that each of you have thought about repeatedly and are at the top of the priority list. The tricky part is that those items may or may not align with one another, so it’s important to talk through how you want to focus your time and your budget. If you’re having trouble, I invite our clients to hop on a call and sometimes talking through these thoughts with another person can help you decide.

Compile Your Guest List
Your guest count is going to have a big impact in the overall feel and budget of your wedding. There is no right number for how many people to invite, again, you have to choose what is best for you, but knowing how many people you will invite and thinking through how many will come, will help you when choosing a venue (which can be a big investment). Your guest count will drive almost all your costs, so you can see why it’s important to think through this early. Make sure to count plus ones and the little ones (if you’re inviting kids), too, as that is a common mistake when thinking through seating.

Understanding Your Vision
When you close your eyes and think about your wedding day, what does it feel like? What are you doing and what are you guests doing? Are your guests sitting, eating and deep in quality conversation or are they all out on the dance floor until the early hours of the morning? What do want them to feel when they leave and what do you want them to say when a co-worker asks them how their weekend was? Thinking through these questions can help you determine your vision for your wedding. It’s another exercise that can assist you in deciding what is most important to you.

Guest Experience
In the recent years, there is a lot of talk about how your guests experience your wedding and the many aspects that go into caring for them. Personalization also fits into this category. We can think through how to infuse your personalities and your interests into every aspect of the day – from the décor to the music, the vows and the food – your wedding is about you two and your love. These aspects will not only make your wedding unique and memorable, but it will also help you prioritize what truly matters to you as a couple.

Ultimately, we want to help you prioritize the important elements to create a day that is truly unforgettable.
