One of my favorite celebrations to design for a client is a baby shower that’s elevated from the typical finger foods and baby games. Adding sophistication and timeless detail to this exciting day gave the parents-to-be and their friends a chic way to say cheers to their highly anticipated new additions. You read that right – The Rands were expecting twins! We planned a “Gifts from Heaven” garden party for an afternoon to complement both our stylish mom and dad … and baby boy and girl!
What made this particular event so special was that their friends and family traveled far and wide to celebrate with them. The reunions sparked fun conversation and sweet moments that made it a memorable day filled with lots of fun! We set the garden party tone as soon as guests arrived, inviting them to pose in front of a delicate paper flower backdrop before walking into Jamison’s Garden at the Mandarin Oriental Atlanta. From there, guys could hang out and watch football in Rohan’s lounge, a coolly styled space with fun snacks and sips.
Inside the heavenly decorated ballroom, the Auntie Squad were dressed in pink and blue with fun fascinators. Everyone got to put their own creative skills to work helping finish the babies’ nursery for these sweet parents. They stocked the baby wardrobe by customizing cute onesies and helped begin their story collection by signing a variety of new books and a custom painting for the kiddos’ room.
Aside from crafting and football, this upscale shower mixed up the entertainment from a harpist offering gorgeous background music for the festivities, and a DJ getting everyone on the dance floor. A fun photo booth gave both guests and the new parents a chance to make keepsakes, plush seating gave everyone a gorgeous place to catch up with friends and vibrant floral arrangements topped off a seriously chic way to say “baby shower.”
Guests ate well, too. A decadent dessert display offered all of the couple’s favorite sweet treats in various shades of pinks and blues. From elegantly iced doughnuts, to gold-dusted macarons, bite-sized brownies, beautiful watercolor sugar cookies, a custom four-tiered cake and more, not one detail was left unaddressed. The result was beautiful, delicious and perfect for this stylish couple to celebrate their new beginnings.
It is one of the prettiest parties we’ve done, for sure, but what I loved most about this particular shower is that after the celebration was over, we installed the custom library bookshelf and paper flowers right into the nursery – checking something off the list for these eager parents-to-be. I know their new family will enjoy these custom designed elements for years to come!
