This sweet wedding was the culmination of a love story 40 years in the making, and I was so honored to play a small role in it! M&A were married at the St. Regis Atlanta October 2014 surrounded by their family and friends.
I’m a big proponent of our clients doing an activity that will calm nerves prior to the ceremony. For this bride, it was reading her favorite verses out of a family heirloom bible.
The bride was a vision in her Christos by Amsale gown with a lush bouquet filled with garden roses.
The groom was dapper in a midnight blue “James Bond” tux.
The ceremony was set on the European inspired grand terrace at the St. Regis Atlanta.
We kept the ceremony decor simple, using columns and urns that blend into the existing terrace, but still created a lush backdrop for our clients to recite their vows.
In lieu of gifts, the couple asked their guests to contribute in their honor to a local children’s charity. So it was very fitting for the Atlanta Youth Singers to sing during the ceremony. After exchanging vows on the St. Regis’ terrace, everyone was filled with joy as the children’s choir sang Pharrell’s “Happy” while the couple recessed down the aisle.
At cocktail hour, navy sequin linen sparkled with blush floral accents. Guests were entertained by a saxophonist while they sipped champagne and signed the couple’s engagement portrait.
The stationery suite designed by Foglio Press, centered around a custom pattern made from the bride’s engagement ring. Thermography, pops of navy and blush, and a monogram completed the classic and elegant suite.
As we opened the doors to the reception, everyone gasped as they entered the room through a 20 foot cherry blossom archway.
The Project M Band from Elan Artists delivered a concert worthy performance and kept guests on the dance floor.
The reception design featured a mix of round, square, and estate tables set with champagne linen from Nuage Designs and mirrored table tops. Lush ivory and blush floral by Edge Design sparkled with crystal accents. Gold rimmed chargers and navy trimmed menu cards finished the tables. The focal point of the room was a white stage with dramatic asymmetrical drape and a white dance floor with the couple’s monogram. We added additional seating to the room with white tufted lounge furniture by the dance floor and 4 sided banquettes by the bar.
After cutting the cake, the bride and groom were toasted after experiencing the St. Regis’ long standing tradition of sabering the champagne.
For a late night surprise, we had chicken and waffles, and fries served before midnight. And after begging the band for one more song, the couple exited through sparklers as they said goodnight to their guests.
It was a magical day, and only the beginning of their 40 year love story! Thanks to our vendor team:
