Not every 16-year-old’s birthday party looks like this one, but as Isan Elba knows, you only turn 16 once and helping bring her unique, chic vision to life was an absolute delight! She wanted a winter-inspired, modern day fairytale birthday bash, packed with the people she loves and plenty of dancing. With her elevated imagination as inspiration, we delivered with glam accents, icy, sparkling colors, dramatic floral installations and modern furniture. The result was an energetic, stylish evening that Isan will never forget!
We had two goals when we designed the event – maximize the space of The Piedmont Room and leave plenty of room for dancing – so we created two standout floral and chandelier arches to highlight the room. Each featured truss arch was completely covered in white hydrangea blooms and adorned with hanging chandeliers, crystal strands, floral garlands and crystal pendant embellishments.
To give the event a style that would complement the room’s gorgeous architecture, we used mirrored tables throughout the space. We installed a grand dessert display atop a mirrored table with lattice candle walls that included a trio of cakes and a sparkling assortment of sweets decorated in the party colors – cool turquoise and blue hues, stunning silvers and whites.
High back leather banquettes with mirrored tables complemented the space’s unique windows, and gave guests a comfortable place to catch up off the dance floor.
And as the dance floor became the teens’ domain, the dedicated section we designed for parents used grand, mirrored estate tables to feature a lush floating floral runner composed of roses, hydrangea and orchid blooms, finished with a flickering collection of candle vessels.
After singing Happy Birthday to Isan, the highlight of the night was a heartfelt toast by her dad, Idris Elba, who also honored her beautiful mom Kim. A surprise performance by YFN Lucci kicked off a night of dancing as celebrity DJ Suede, “The Remix God,” kept the floor packed all night.
Everyone went home with custom favor boxes packed with goodies to keep them warm on a winter night.
It was such a fun and memorable night!
