I’ve mentioned before how much I love planning all kinds of different parties – and this girls-night-in event with xoNecole will go down in the books as one of my favorites. For starters, it’s just what us grown-up girls need to relax and unwind from managing busy schedules, running businesses and raising families. Secondly, it was a ton of fun!
Pajamas & Lipstick invited ladies to bring their besties for an evening “in” filled with good vibes, even better music, plenty of pampering, girl talk and surprise guests. Ladies could take a time out from the everyday hustle and bustle to genuinely connect with an empowering tribe of women. No one had to grin and bear it through a pair of high heels, but we did show off some serious pops of color through lipstick (and cute pajamas) – easy inspiration to design the party around!
The event took place at Upstairs Atlanta where we set up a stage framed by a 12×12-foot wall drenched in colorful fabrics and the Pajamas and Lipstick logo against a lush velvet sofa. On the floor, ladies lounged with a combination of floor tables, floor pillows, ottomans, cozy rugs and blankets in vibrant hues of blue, green, pink, orange and gray. Whimsical teepee frames and unique floral made with giant leafy fronds, bright floral and spindly cacti rounded out the open space.
Amidst lively conversation and fun speakers, guests jumped into a photo booth stocked with colorful dried pampas and floral props, and women participated in an interactive activity answering provocative questions they picked out of envelopes displayed on a boxwood wall. Talk about icebreakers!
No good girls night happens without sweet treats and fun drinks. Necole set the (literal) bar high with colorful cocktails to sip and plenty of sweet treats to indulge in. We displayed those adorable desserts – like lipstick-adorned popsicles, iced cupcakes and custom frosted sugar cookies – for guests to stay fueled for a fun time.
This event certainly inspired me to start planning something fun for my own best girls. What do you and your friends do for a night to catch up and spend quality time together? I hope the ideas we executed in this event help you make your next girls night (in or out) something worthy enough to whip out your best lipstick for!
