This year’s Galentine’s Day Gala was held in late January at The Carlyle Venue in Atlanta. Hosted by Sherri J, this event is hosted for Prominent Business Women, “ranging from Entrepreneurs, Corporate Executives, Administrative Personnel, and many other business areas, who are interested in celebrating, honoring, and engaging with one another in a professional, yet elegant and luxurious setting.” Ultimately, this one-of-a-kind event is dedicated to Women’s Empowerment.
Creating the Galentine’s Day Gala was a three-day production. We started with the ceiling drapery and chandeliers, then worked the perimeter of the space, stage and lastly, tables and lounge areas.
Guests were welcomed to the event with a red carpet arrival completed with a dramatic organic red balloon design.
The cocktail hour gave guests the chance to engage and enjoy photo moments, interact with each other, and be entertained prior to the start of the gala.
One of the key design elements for the Galentine’s Day event was texture. With a monochromatic palette, we never want the decor to be flat or one-dimensional. The key to creating movement and making each element pop was utilizing different fabrics and florals with a variety of shapes and structures. Lighting also played a big role in transforming the space, as well as the custom dance floor and red carpet.
When creating an incredible, immersive guests experience, the tabletop design is critical. We used several custom pieces in the place settings – including the chargers, table numbers and heart-shaped menu/program cards. A combination of high and low centerpieces can be admired from afar, as well as up close. Comfortable, yet glamorous seating also played a key role.
It truly was an honor to plan and design this event!
